John Phillips: Italy's Response to the Coronavirus Outbreak

Ambassador John Phillips joined American Ambassadors Live! Podcast host Ambassador Jim Rosapepe to discuss the coronavirus outbreak in Italy and the country's response. Ambassador Phillips was appointed by President Barack Obama as U.S. Ambassador to Italy in 2013 and served until 2017.

 

Ambassador John Phillips served for four years as the U.S. Ambassador to Italy and the Republic of San Marino after being appointed by President Obama. He retired from the firm in 2013 to accept the ambassadorship appointment, then rejoined in 2017. John Phillips was selected by President Bill Clinton to be a member of the President's Commission on White House Fellowships. He served from 1997 to 2001. In 2009, President Obama appointed Phillips to be the chairman of the President's Commission on White House Fellowships, where he served for four years. He was an appointed member (1988) to serve on the 9th Circuit Judicial Conference.


Ambassador Jim Rosapepe served as the U.S. Ambassador to Romania from 1998 to 2001 and is a member of the CAA Board of Directors. He currently is Chairman and CEO of Patuxent Capital Group LLC and serves in the Maryland State Senate.
