Former U.S. Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Tom McDonald, joined American Ambassadors Live! Podcast host, Ambassador Philip Hughes, to explore the influence of Chinese and Russian activities in Africa.

 

Ambassador Tom McDonald is a partner in the Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP Washington, DC office. He leads the firm's administrative and regulatory law and governmental policy practice. He served as U.S. Ambassador to Zimbabwe from 1997 to 2001 and now continues to provide strategic business and government relations counsel both in Washington, DC and internationally.


Ambassador G. Philip Hughes served as the U.S. Ambassador to Barbados, Dominica, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines from 1990 to 1993. Prior his appointment, Ambassador Hughes served as Executive Secretary of the National Security Council during 1989 and 1990. He is the Senior Vice President of the Council of American Ambassadors and a Senior Director at the White House Writers Group.
